David is a consultant who works part time as an Executive Coach and Independent Investigator supporting schools in the Bristol area. He also acts as an Independent Expert Witness for educational issues regarding legal cases.
David was a Headteacher for 26 years until his retirement, working in two specialist schools for SEN pupils. His first Headship of eight years was at RNIB Rushton Hall School in Northamptonshire which provided residential education for pupils with a visual impairment and severe learning difficulties. His second Headship was at Briarwood School in Bristol for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties for 18 years. David contributed to Bristol’s educational leadership; Chairing the Bristol Children and Young Persons Board and the Bristol Attainment Group. He also supported local Headteachers as a Local Leader in Education.
David has a strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring all pupils are given the opportunity to make the most of their education.
